In 2020, the goal of the team at Rockliffe Hall was to save costs and increase profitability. Because of COVID-19, they quickly realised that they needed to reduce touchpoints, digitise their menus, guestbooks and magazines while finding a way to make things easier for the guests and future-proofing the business.
By adopting a user-centric approach, we designed and developed the Rockliffe Hall app which, combining contemporary design with sophisticated technology, has enabled the hotel team to digitise all their guest information and give guests an easy-to-use platform to have everything they need at their fingertips.
With the app, guests can browse menus, request services, read magazines, follow the hotel’s social media accounts, easily connect to the Wi-Fi, book a table at one of the restaurants, read and book outdoor activities such as golf courses or tennis courts, leave a review, send feedback, find out the best local attractions and much more.
The app is enabling Rockliffe Hall to save the money and time required to produce and purchase brochures, flyers, menus, magazines and other printed collateral while enhancing the guest experience.
After the successful launch of the app, which has been warmly welcomed by guests, Rockliffe Hall decided to integrate the app with its property management system and digital door locks to offer its discerning guests the choice of Mobile Check-In and Digital Key to enable a fully contactless guest experience.
“We’ve had more hits on our mobile site than our main desktop site now, so that shows that everyone is embracing mobile technology and we have to embrace it with them. We need to listen to our guests, to the data and statistics that Criton provides, and make sure that everything they can do is simple and at the touch of a button.
Guests don’t want to come down to reception anymore or stand in a queue with other people. My interest is to make sure that we don’t lose the hospitality we offer to our guests but we won't lose that with an app. The app is information-based. It allows guests to have everything they need at their fingertips, whenever they want it, 24 hours a day.
