Criton headline sponsor of the BWS Women in Hospitality & Tourism Awards 2019

25th February 2019

We are delighted to be the headline sponsor of the BWS Women in Hospitality & Tourism Awards 2019 and to show our support for women in senior leadership roles and for the business community in Scotland.

Business Women Scotland is a platform that showcases women in business and their achievements. Launched in 2017, the Women in Hospitality & Tourism Awards recognise women who have made an impact in their industry through innovation, best practice and delivering outstanding results. There are 14 categories and the judges will pick an overall winner that will receive a HIT Scotland Scholarship.

Julie Grieve, CEO and Founder at Criton, said: “In Scotland, there are over 217,000 people working within the hospitality sector, according to VisitScotland, however, senior-level roles are dominated by men. As a business founded with hospitality at its very core, Criton is delighted to be working with Business Women Scotland Magazine as we recognise the passionate and dedicated women working across the industry through this national programme of awards.”

Lynne Kennedy, Managing Director of Business Women Scotland, said: “Business Women Scotland’s main goal is to celebrate the achievements of women-led businesses across the country. We created the Women in Hospitality and Tourism awards in 2016 with the aim to shine a spotlight on the fantastic women who work hard to make our precious leisure and social time so special.

The awards have grown in popularity and we are delighted to be working with Criton for the 2019 awards. As an innovative business led by a woman with a hospitality background, they are creating real change across the industry, they are the perfect partner to help us celebrate these amazing women.”

The Women in Hospitality & Tourism Awards will be held on the 16th May 2019 at the Waldorf Astoria, Edinburgh. Entries are open until the 4th March. To enter visit https://bwsltd.co.uk/women-in-hospitality-and-tourism-awards-2019
